Bayern Munich were held to a frustrating 0–0 draw by Schalke 04 on Saturday night at the Veltins-Arena, despite dominating possession and creating several clear opportunities.

The defending Bundesliga champions controlled the game for long periods, but Schalke’s compact defense proved difficult to break down. Bayern had 83% possession and 15 shots, while Schalke produced a determined defensive performance in front of their home supporters.

One of the biggest reasons Bayern failed to score was Loris Karius. The Schalke goalkeeper produced several impressive saves, including crucial stops against Michael Olise and Harry Kane, earning Man of the Match recognition.

Vincent Kompany introduced Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise as Bayern pushed for a breakthrough, but Schalke continued to resist until the final whistle. Kane came close with a powerful long-range effort, only for Karius to make another excellent save.

The result means Bayern dropped two points in their second Bundesliga match of the season, while newly promoted Schalke celebrated a memorable point against the reigning champions.
